Charter III of Alnwick Abbey, includes text from charters by her son William, mentioning Eustace son of John and Beatrice specifically as his parents. Charter IV, a foundation story written much later, and considered unreliable, mentions Beatrice's father Ivo de Vescy, and mother, only daughter and heir of William Tyson, son and heir of Gisbrit, baron of Alnwick and Malton. (Dugdale Monasticon VI,Alnwick charters, p.868. Complete Peerage p.274 footnote (a) says for example "it is impossible to believe that an Englishman born before Hastings would have borne the foreign name of William".) TheWatton foundation story, Watton charter VII, says that when William was born, his mother (who is not named, but described as daughter and heir of Ivo de Vescy), died. (Dugdale Monasticon VI, Watton charters, p.955) As mentioned above these same Watton charters were proven wrong by Clay in details about the earliest events. The name Alda does not appear in these charters.
