A remarkable bound manuscript volume containing a series of dated legal proceedings from the year 1617, written in a fluent mixture of Latin and Italian in a characteristic early Seventeenth-century cursive hand. The entries, dated from March through at least late April 1617, record successive hearings or notarial acts before what appears to be a local judicial or notarial authority, with named parties appearing across multiple sessions. Each entry is headed with the date and legal formula and concludes with what appears to be a judicial or notarial signature.

The volume retains its original binding, with pages showing age-appropriate toning, foxing, and handling wear consistent with over four centuries of use. The handwriting is bold and well-preserved throughout, remaining largely legible to those trained in early modern Italian and Latin scripts.

A rare survival — a complete bound register rather than a loose leaf — dating to the same year as the first performance of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and the height of the Italian Baroque. An outstanding piece for collectors of Italian manuscripts, early modern legal history, or Baroque-era documents.
